Liz grew up in the Maine woods playing every unorganized game that comes naturally to kids. With a pencil in one hand (to write), a book in the other (to read) and her feet (to move), she jumped, skipped, leapt, and sometimes stumbled among the birch and pine woods, navigated ponds, climbed over beaver dams, rocks, and fallen trees (balancing as best she could). In winter, she did the same, but carrying her skates and a thermos of hot cocoa, instead. All in all, it was the perfect movement exploration ground for childhood. Ultimately unwilling to give up all of the fun and ever fascinated by the human animal and spirit, Liz decided to spend a bit less time with her nose in books and more time moving and sharing movement with others.
Liz still keeps a pencil (well, a computer) in one hand, creating and writing. The rest of the time you might find her balancing on one leg (or her head, shoulders, one hand and one foot, etc.), teaching yoga to grown-ups and children, exploring moving with mindfulness, efficiency, and grace for health and for fun. She is part of an amazing team of movement educators and experts, and together they’ve created multi- award-winning movement resources for kids.
As a mom, Liz is committed to raising a son who can thrive in a world beyond the Human Zoo; as a professional, she is committed to reintroducing kids and their grown-ups back into the wild and encouraging rehabilitation through nature, sunshine, comradery, and training MovNat for natural human movement efficiency, real-world competency, mindfulness, and lifelong health.
Feeling very lucky indeed, she joins the MovNat team as Editorial Coordinator. Anything to do with blogging, writing, editing, hotly debating the rules of grammar and punctuation, etc., send it her way.
