The first course started only a few days after my arrival from France. This time, I wasn’t just visiting, but actually moving to the USA!
Obtaining my “Extraordinary Ability” O-1 visa had taken much longer than expected, leaving me with a very limited time to handle all the logistics required on the spot, buying and setting up all the equipment, scouting the whole area etc… But thanks to very hard work and the precious help of my assistant Jeff Kuhland (thanks again Jeff
), everything worked miraculously well in the end we were ready on time to welcome the first participants!
We had people from all over the States, but also from Canada, Mexico and the UK – men and women, young and old, out of shape and in super good shape, amateurs or professional trainers.
We also had nightly “drop-ins”, well, unexpected wild and hairy participants…bears! After these bear “attacks”, well of course they did not attack us but our food storage, we got 2 tents crushed (including Steve Maxwells tent), a whole stock of nuts was gone… no big deal though, and these untamed guys finally got caught by the local WildLife service to be relocated to a wilder area. I am sure they are now thriving in a new territory.
I guess it would be too long to narrate every course with plenty of details, so all I want to say is that I had a fantastic time there, as each and every participant inspired me in their own way, and that it is that inspiration from them that kept me energized to the end of the final course. Thanks everyone! It was so great to see you guys explore your true nature with such commitment, attentiveness and thirst to learn and experience new things, and to see you all make such amazing progress so fast!
Special thanks also to coach Steve Maxwell for accepting my invitation to attend the first Expansion seminar and for honoring me by handling the grappling part of the defense sessions.
But I think the best honor from Steve is when the final day of the course he told me how much he had been, in his own words, “blown away” by his MovNat experience. Coming from such a knowledgeable and experienced coach, what a compliment! Steve, you are a true inspiration.

ll, thinking back of how deeply satisfying running these 4 first US seminars was to me, I guessed that what I could personally say about these wonderful moments shared with everyone there still would probably be seen as a biased, commercial-driven attempt to make it all look great and appealing.
So, I decided that I would instead let the participants themselves share with you their perspective of their MovNat experience with me at Summersville Lake in their own words, thanks to the testimonials below. I know that they all sound so ridiculously positive… and indeed they cost me a LOT of money, well I guess my Ferrari will have to wait

Erwan Le Corre
“Even with a background that includes six years of US Air Force Special Operations, four years of NCAA competitive swimming, and an entire adult lifetime dedicated to fitness and nutrition, I was AMAZED at the challenge, experience, and adventure that MovNat provided. The practical and scalable practice of the natural movement method that Erwan Le Corre is sharing with the world is something that anyone and everyone, no matter what walk of life they find themselves in, could benefit from learning about. MovNat is the most pure fun I have honestly had while doing something to enhance my health, fitness, and well-being… not to mention my life!”
Jason Smitka
“Even though I’m nearly seventy years old, the scalability of your training and your personal encouragement every step of the way, allowed me to keep up (in most cases) with the younger men and women in our class. Your encouragement gave me the confidence and skills to successfully do things I would never try on my own. What a powerful experience. Many thanks for everything.”
Bob McMillan
As a certified CrossFit trainer and Kettlebell instructor, I am gratified that MovNat has given me much more than just a series of functional exercises and techniques. In fact, the teachings have provided me with a complete training methodology. As a consequence, I have been able to apply this approach to fitness anywhere I go, whether the setting be urban or rural, indoors or outdoors. I came to this discovery during a 5-day seminar conducted by Erwan Le Corre, in which my traditional approach to strength and conditioning measures were additionally challenged through the application of natural physical movement. Natural movement is our evolutionary birthright and Le Corre knows how to make it accessible to anyone.
M. Le Corre is a true professional whose knowledge, passion and dedication to his vision and his clients are apparent through his charismatic personality. He takes the time to engage each and every trainee, ensuring that the basics are known before more difficult endeavors are attempted. In a word, one might say that his teaching methodology follows a “natural” movement of its own. The man has a gift for instruction. If you have an interest in fitness, health and personal well-being, I would highly recommend that you seek out MovNat and Erwan Le Corre.

I’m not surprised you received so many positive testimonials – it’s what I expected. I attended only a 1 day Movnat clinic in London which was great – so a whole 5 days of Movnat training must have been fantastic.
I just hope I’ll be able to attend your next Movnat seminar – whether it’s Brazil, the US or anywhere else

But seriously, this is very, very great! I´m very happy for you.

I’m kind of glad that I missed THAT natural experience Erwan! We were all wondering where the bears were the week earlier.
Best wishes in finding your facility in Boulder!
Hey Jonathan, I hope to see you there too!
Thanks Mark!
Hey Greg, the second bear was rather big for a black bear! WV is a pretty wild area.
Getting to work and coach with Erwan was one of the best experiences in my life. I had the privilege to help Erwan with the USA seminars in Summersville West Virginia. Everything came through and we turned out to have 4 amazing groups that each had a unique personality and rewarding attributes. This is a credit to our hard work, but most importantly to Erwan’s great coaching system and a very intelligent approach to developing people’s abilities. The ability to scale the experiences to everyone’s level and seriously challenge everyone in an outdoor environment in a safe and effective manner is a very unique and special talent he has worked to achieve. I would recommend MovNat to anyone of any ability with even the slightest interest level because you will be impressed, you will leave with better skills and knowledge, and you will wish you had more time with Erwan than your session.
Before I would just call it the Tarzan workout…running the beach, rock climbing, cliff jumping, swimming, lifting, dragging, and throwing pieces of drift wood and rocks! When I read the spread about MovNat and Erwan LeCorre I was inside a buddy’s apartment and just started ripping pull up’s. I was like I knew there were crazy people like me who like to workout like a barbarian! I’m from the coast of Maine and when I’m unable to make it to the beach I made an obstacle course in my back yard that outlines the workout in the spread of Men’s Health. Erwan I have a seperate saving’s just for the Brazil retreat…I will see you in Brazil.
