Where the hell is Erwan?

Long time no see folks!

To those who may have believed that I had decided to practice “Move Not” since my last post, well, in fact, you may want to know that the last 2 months have been absolutely crazy in pace and intensity.

If you haven’t heard from me for so long, it’s because I was preparing to move to the USA and then had been running 4 seminars in a row in West Virginia (more about it coming very soon).

I was so busy, there was no way I could take care of movnat.com in the meantime, not backpacker-travel-insurancementioning that West Virginia is really, really somewhat…different :D .

So right now I am in Boulder, Colorado, and have decided that it will be THE place where I will live!

I have truly fallen in love with the city, the community, and the spirit here. I am surrounded by many amateur or pro outdoors athletes, and I’m happy to become part of this local community. I have absolutely no doubt that I can have a very happy life here! It is the place I have been looking for… for years.

So, what’s next? What am I up to?

My top priority now is to find a training facility that I can structure to fit MovNat training. I want to see MovNat become grounded in a particular place, both by becoming

part of a local community and secondly by creating a first local community of MovNat practitioners!

This place will also become the MovNat headquarters where I can hold training seminars and certification events in the future, and the facility itself will be a test-pilot business that will provide future certified trainers a good idea of what their own MovNat training facility could or should look like.

Secondly there’s going to be some work done on the website very soon to have it improve and evolve to some extent. For instance we are going to create a private forum that will be accessible by all participants of MovNat seminars or clinics, or by invitation only. So, it will be a rather confidential start, but in the process it will allow me to build an early online community that will be healthy, positive and constructive and made of individuals that have an actual experience of MovNat and will also truly know what MovNat is and isn’t. I believe this is an essential foundation before we can start to widen this community and welcome more people on our boards someday.

couv_book_movnat_rvb1My third priority is to take time to further write my book. It is a big task and even though I am not starting from scratch since I have already produced a good deal of written material, it is still undoubtedly a hugely time-consuming job.
But it is fundamental in my eyes to establish and be able to provide a solid, in-depth conceptual manual to my specific approach of natural movement and to be able to make this work available on a wider scale. People interested in seriously learning about my philosophy as well as about the training method itself will find in that book a lot of content and answers, except if your dream is to achieve this kind of dream body :D .

Actively working on the points mentioned above means that at some point, I may be less available for clinics around the country despite the many requests from many different states for local events. It is important that I can settle somewhere at the moment, start with a local community and save time and energy to prepare the future certification events and also write my book. Because of that, I may not be able to travel for clinics around the country as much as I would like.

For now, I believe that the people that are really motivated and committed to learn and train MovNat (or getting certified) will not hesitate to visit me where I am. Hopefully those who cannot travel will be lucky to have a certified MovNat trainer in their own area in the near future, as the number of people that have sent their contact to me to get information about the certification program (again, starting 2010) is now nearing…1000 people. It is easy to understand why my top concern is actually not to train more practitioners, but to prepare the instruction of the little army of trainers that will teach the future practitioners in different corners of the country or the world, all on a professional basis. This way it will be possible for many more people in the long run to have access to MovNat training locally.

A little word about the certification, it will certainly not be a weekend instruction. I believe such a short duration would be just a joke, honestly. Getting certified in MovNat, even at level 1, will not be so hard but will certainly not necessarily be so easy and there is no guarantee to become certified just by attending a certification event. I want skilled, competent and inspiring coaches to represent and teach the Natural Movement Coaching System, which is MovNat and this does not happen in less than 48 hours.

I will probably email more information about the level 1 cert before the end of the year to everyone that have shown interest in that program. See the Certification Page for more information and to be put on the newsletter list for future announcements.

I have no doubt that MovNat will soon become an even more influential concept and also an increasingly strong and popular movement, based on local communities and dedicated practitioners and trainers. I am not rushing anything though, as I want to make sure everything will be built on a solid foundation and also because I am not the kind of person to compromise with my core values.

I am working very, very hard, and whoever has met me know how driven I am to accomplish what I call my “vision” and which I am willing to share with anyone who has a similar mindset and orientation. What just looks like a “niche” at the moment has the potential to spread like wildfire!

An impressive number of people have already expressed their will to support my action and become part of that movement. I want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone for that amazing support and all the good vibes that have been manifested so far and that keep on fueling my dedication and cheering me up everyday.

Sincerly yours,

Erwan Le Corre

I so look forward to visiting you in CO. Boulder is a beautiful area. My family lives out there in FT, Collins so it would be fun to spend a month or so learning from you.

Glad to get an update! I’ve been to Boulder quite a few times in my life and I understand the draw to live there. It’s great being surrounded by so many fit and motivated people! Especially ones who are motivated to spread their thoughts and tips to people who are looking for a more healthy lifestyle. I live in Tennessee currently and am lucky enough to be surrounded by many of the same type of people. You really need encouragement when you’re tackling the mountains and forests around here. Looking forward to your book and all! When MovNat starts to take off (and I truly believe it will) know that you’ll have an advocate in East Tennessee. Take care and keep us updated!

Thanks for the new movie. Great to dream away for a couple of minutes.

I’m really looking forward to your book. Take your time and make it really good!

Seems like you’re leaving Europe. And I was hoping for a possible European seminar/certification… ;-( But I do love travelling, and if Boulder is so nice, it will be worth the trip.

It all sounds good, America has some spectacular nature, and it seems like you are right in the heart of it.

What’s happened to your Brazilian retreat, do you still plan on going back there? Seems like you’re starting to plant the movnat seed all around the world now :)

    Best of luck!

  • Cloud

well i suppose Boulder is closer to where i live than Brazil so more chance i might be able to go over!:D

what about those of us who are under 18?:(
do you have to been 18 to go to a seminar?

the video rocks by the way!:D

Erwan, do you know if there are anyone (except me) from Sweden who has shown interest in the certification program? Maybe a stupid question, I know, but If there are maybe we could get together and train and travel to you together, that´s why I want to know.

  • Mark Gerlach

I agree with Pieter. It´s a little sad that the Old World will have to get along without you for some time :-( But I never had been to the US and Boulder seems to be a really great place to travel to. And of course it´s very important to build a solid basis on which the movnat-tree can grow. So, all the best for you, and keep your energy!

  • @Pieter: thanks!
@Greg: announcing Brazil seminars is the next thing I have to take care of. Many people have already emailed me for info, I have been so busy moving to the US, organizing and running the US seminars (review and testimonals soon), but it is time now to finally prepare these Brazil retreats!

@Per, yes there are several other people from Sweden that sent me their information, but also from Norway, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Russia, Greece, Israel, Australia, Hong-Kong, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, New Zealand etc…
But all these countries together is still 20% or less of the overall interest in the MovNat cert.
I could have you guys connecting together if you want, just email me about it if you want.

@Mark you wouldn’t regret to spend time in Boulder trust me! Thanks for the support!

  • Hi Erwan,
You deserve all the support and succes !!
    Looking forward to learn !!
    Good luck,
    Bert

ps: To Pieter D: Enjoy this sunny weekend !!

You better get crackin’ on that book, Erwan! You’ve got a lot of anxious alumni trainees awaiting the official release of the MovNat method :)

  • Bert

I can’t wait for the book to come out, I am really looking forward to all the useful information it will have. No need to rush it though, I would think you would need to take time and get everything started. I wish I lived in Boulder to be apart of the community there and help any way I could in getting everything going, but I am not really close to Colorado at all. So for now I just wish the best for you and everything you are doing.

  • Ben

    Hey Erwan
Looking forward to the book :)
I have a question: Do you ever exercise/train in more extreme climates? Lets say a desert or an artic region. Or even a moutain. Or do you generally do this in a forest or coastal area?

  • Matt

    Erwan,

First off, welcome to Colorado. I can’t tell you how excited I was to see that picture of the Flatirons when you mentioned you had moved. I am at the opposite corner of the Denver area from you but 40 minutes by car in no traffic is closer than anybody else who has replied so far. Can’t wait to see the book and I look forward to the opportunity to train in the near future.

    Matt

  • Derek Stroup

Congrats on the move to the US and Boulder especially. I’m in California but will definitely save up to make it out for a seminar. In the meantime, happy training.
