Dr. Jon Morey

Team Instructor – USA

Dr.Jon Morey is a Chiropractic Physician, University Professor, martial artist, educator, and longtime advocate for natural movement and healthy living. A 5th Degree Black Belt with decades of experience studying human movement and physical development, Dr. Morey successfully completed his MovNat Level 3 Certified Trainer (MCT) certification in September 2015. His professional background brings together clinical practice, anatomy education, martial arts, movement training, and a broader philosophy centered on improving health and quality of life.

In addition to his work as a physician and educator, Dr. Morey is the Founder of the Uncivilized Vitality™ method of Optimizing Health & Happiness. The Uncivilized Vitality™ program was officially organized in 2003 as a practical approach to helping people improve their overall health, physical capability, and well-being. Over the years, the philosophy continued to develop into a broader system focused on helping people reconnect with fundamental habits and practices that support a healthier and more capable life.

To help make the principles of Uncivilized Vitality™ available to a wider population, Dr. Morey established the Uncivilized Living Foundation, which was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2018. Through the Foundation, the mission of Uncivilized Vitality™ could extend beyond Dr. Morey’s individual practice and reach more people interested in improving their health, movement, and overall quality of life.

Movement is the foundation of a capable, healthy, and fulfilling life.

Dr. Morey has also built his philosophy around his own family life. He has been married for more than 25 years to his wife, Kerry Ann, and together they raised four “Uncivilized” boys. His family has played an important role in the way he approaches health and movement—not simply as concepts to be discussed or taught, but as principles that can be incorporated into everyday living.

Based in mid-Michigan, Dr. Morey continues to maintain an active professional schedule. He operates a private chiropractic practice where he sees patients four days each week, allowing him to work directly with individuals seeking to improve their health, function, and physical well-being. His clinical experience gives him an ongoing opportunity to observe how the human body moves, adapts, and responds to the demands of everyday life.

Alongside his private practice, Dr. Morey serves as a university educator. For approximately eight months of each year, he teaches Anatomy to medical students in the University’s cadaver laboratory. This academic role gives him the opportunity to share his understanding of human anatomy with future medical professionals while remaining deeply connected to the structural and functional foundations of the human body. His combination of clinical experience, anatomy instruction, martial arts, and movement education provides him with a uniquely broad perspective on physical health and human performance.

Natural Movement reconnects us with the strength, adaptability, and vitality we were built to have.

Dr. Morey’s relationship with MovNat began as both a student and practitioner of the system. After completing his Level 3 MCT certification in 2015, he became more actively involved with the MovNat community. Between 2016 and 2021, he traveled to and helped host MovNat Level 1 and Level 2 certification events while serving as a Team Instructor. During those years, he had the opportunity to work alongside other instructors and participants while helping teach the principles, skills, and practical application of Natural Movement.

His experience with MovNat has had a lasting influence on his own approach to health and physical development. Dr. Morey considers the Natural Movement system developed by Erwan Le Corre to be the best movement instruction program he has encountered. Its practical, adaptable, and human-centered approach aligns closely with the philosophy behind Uncivilized Vitality™.

Movement also occupies a central role within the Uncivilized Vitality™ system. In fact, Movement is the first of what Dr. Morey describes as the Five Vital Paths. MovNat therefore provides much of the foundation for the movement recommendations incorporated into the Uncivilized Vitality™ approach. The emphasis on developing natural human movement abilities complements Dr. Morey’s broader mission of helping people build healthier, more capable, and more fulfilling lives.

After several years of previous involvement as a MovNat Team Instructor, Dr. Morey is excited to once again be working with MovNat. His return brings together his experience as a Chiropractic Physician, anatomy professor, martial artist, movement educator, and founder of Uncivilized Vitality™. Through these combined roles, he continues to promote an approach to health that values movement, practical capability, education, and the development of habits that support long-term vitality.

Health is not just about avoiding illness—it is about building the capacity to live fully.
